Some communication from the developer would be great. But I also feel a bit concerned about the future. So far, I appreciate the gift Lucky Clan has given us, their existing users. It has happened before with other developers and other apps… and that’s the scary part. That’s the end of it’s life and we’re done, we either suscribe to the new app, or pack our bags an move on. Let me clarify: the developer can release an “all new app” under a different name that’s subscription only, and the current ArtStudio Pro won’t be updated any more. if you think about it, “lifetime” means exactly that: the lifetime of the app and no one knows how long it will last in it’s current state. It’s a wonderful gift for sure and I love it. I’m sure all of us certainly appreciate the fact that, as existing customers, we get a lifetime license. The current approach, offering subscription AND a lifetime license may look like a good compromise (even with the huge price increase), but evidently it brings a good deal of unease to the user base, making us wonder if this is the first step towards becoming a subscription only app in the future. On the other, the majority of us, the users, despise the subscription model with every atom of our existence □ On one hand, I guess everyone understands the need the developer has to secure a continuos cash flow to support them and they can continue to develop the app. This is exactly why I left Adobe and Autodesk behind. (I understand you are offering both subscription and perpetual licenses) but this is a huge scary foot in the door to a terrible business model. I totally appreciate all of your hard work and I am willing to support you and your product but I cannot support another company or app that moves to the subscription model. I am not trying to be negative in this post. I have been supporting and using ArtStudio and Artstudio Pro for many years on both the iPad and Mac. new purchase for major updates/versions.) similar to what you did going from ArtStudio to Artstudio Pro. I would be extremely supportive of an upgrade business model. Maybe that price is fair, however, Affinity now has a full suite, and each of their individual apps cost $11.99 (x3 = $35.97 lifetime.) I also noticed your price will be going up to $39.99 for the new lifetime license. I appreciate you allowing your longtime faithful customers to continue with their lifetime license for Artstudio Pro, however, I hope you will reconsider and eliminate the subscription business model. In fact, every time a developer falls into the subscription trap, I look for all possible ways to avoid their applications. It looks like you took the subscription bait Apple has been trying to hook all their developers with.
